Terms of sale
The rules that apply when you buy from us, including how to use the product safely.
Draft — not legally reviewed
1. Who you are buying from
Ski Scraper sells directly to consumers within the European Union. Orders are fulfilled from within the EU and payment is taken by Shopify on our behalf at checkout.
The full company name, registered address, company number and VAT number belong here and are outstanding. This page is not complete until they are on it.
2. Safe use, and the limits of our responsibility
Read this section before first use.
- Keep your free hand clear of the blade path. Scrape away from your body, never towards it.
- Wear gloves. The surfaces you are working on are cold and wet.
- Do not use it on skin, on another person, on an animal, or as a weapon, lever, chisel or pry bar. It is designed for one thing.
- Do not use it to clear a heated windscreen while the heating element is exposed or damaged.
- Keep it out of reach of children, including in the car.
- Replace the edge when it is chipped or visibly worn. A damaged edge skips across glass instead of cutting ice, and a skipping blade is how hands get hurt.
- Inspect the handle for cracks before each season. Stop using it if you find one, and contact us — under the warranty below, that is our problem, not yours.
We are responsible for the product being free from manufacturing defects and for it being fit for the purpose described on this site. We are not responsible for injury or damage arising from use outside that purpose, or from continued use of a visibly damaged product.
Nothing in this section limits any right you have under mandatory consumer law, including your statutory rights in respect of defective goods. Where this page and the law disagree, the law wins.
3. Orders, prices and payment
Prices shown on this site are for the US market and include VAT where applicable. The price you pay is the price shown at checkout, in the currency shown at checkout.
A contract is formed when we send you an order confirmation, not when you place the order. If we cannot fulfil an order — a colour sells out between your click and our warehouse, a price is displayed in obvious error — we will tell you and refund you in full.
Availability shown on product pages is generated when the site is built and can be a few hours out of date. Checkout is authoritative.
4. Delivery
Orders are dispatched within two working days and typically arrive within two to five working days inside the EU. Those are estimates, not guarantees, and winter weather affects couriers exactly as it affects you.
Risk passes to you on delivery. If a parcel arrives damaged, tell us within a reasonable period and we will sort it out.
5. Cancellation and returns
If you are a consumer in the EU you have 14 days from receiving your order to withdraw from the contract without giving a reason, and a further 14 days to return the goods. We refund the full price including standard outbound delivery.
Return the product in a condition that lets us establish its nature and characteristics. You may unwrap it and handle it, as you would in a shop. A scraper that has cleared a season of windscreens has been used rather than examined, and we may reduce the refund accordingly.
Return postage is yours unless the product is faulty or was not what you ordered, in which case it is ours.
6. Warranty
We warrant the handle and blade body against breakage in normal use for two years from delivery. If it breaks doing the job it is sold for, we replace it. Send us a photograph and your order number.
The scraping edge is a consumable and is excluded, as are cosmetic scuffs, damage from use outside the purpose described, and damage from modification. This warranty is in addition to your statutory rights, not instead of them.
7. Complaints and contact
If something has gone wrong, write to us and a person will answer. We drop the theatrics when someone has a problem.
A support address, a postal address and an EU online dispute resolution link belong here and are outstanding.
