The long version.
The crawl on the homepage is the short one. This is the whole thing, in four parts, and it begins at the bottom of a mountain in February.
01
It started with a broken one.
A car park at the bottom of a mountain, February, the light going. The handle of a petrol-station scraper snapped at the neck — the place they always snap, because it is where the mould gate is and the plastic is thinnest.
That scraper was the fourth in as many winters. Nobody remembers buying any of them. They arrive the way batteries do: at the till, in a hurry, because the last one is gone.
02
Nobody was making the good one.
There is a version of almost every winter object that is built properly. Gloves. Boots. Boards. Roof boxes. You can spend money on any of them and get something back for it.
The scraper is the exception. The whole category is built to a price nobody set out to defend, and the result sits in the door pocket of every car on the mountain — the one piece of equipment in the vehicle that nobody chose.
03
So it was funded by the people who needed it.
In August 2024 the campaign went up. It was not a product launch so much as a question: does anyone else find this annoying? The answer arrived faster than the mould tooling did.
Backers argued about the colours, the length, and whether the edge should be replaceable. It should. That argument is the reason it is.

04
The war is not over.
The plastic ice scraper still has the numbers. It has history, distribution and a price nobody can undercut, and it will be in every petrol station next winter.
It has one problem. We are paying attention.

The rebellion fits in your door pocket.
You do not need a sticker explaining that you ski. The miniature ski clearing your windscreen has already made the announcement.
